Ingredients:
- 12 ounces (340g) fresh or frozen cranberries, rinsed
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (120ml) water
- 1/4 cup (60ml) fresh orange juice
- 1 tablespoon orange zest, finely grated
- 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of ground cloves
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- In the saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, water, orange juice, orange zest, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
- Place saucepan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries have burst and the sauce has thickened slightly. (Approx. 15-20 mins)
- Remove from heat and let cool completely. The sauce will thicken further as it cools.
- Serve cranberry sauce at room temperature or chilled.
