Ingredients:

  • 1 block (16 oz / 450g) silken tofu, drained
  • 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tsp maple syrup
  • 2 cloves (6g) garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tsp (2g) crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 stalk (15g) green onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp (3g) toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp (5ml) chili oil

Instructions:

  1. Carefully remove the silken tofu from the package and gently place the block on a serving platter. Using a knife, make 8 shallow diagonal slices across the top of the tofu to create channels for the sauce.
  2. In a small bowl, combine the low-sodium soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, and maple syrup. Whisk in the minced garlic and red pepper flakes until the syrup is dissolved.
  3. Evenly drizzle the sauce over the tofu, ensuring it fills the sliced channels. Scatter the sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds over the top.
  4. Let the dish sit for 2 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
