Ingredients:
- 1 block (16 oz / 450g) silken tofu, drained
- 3 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 1 tsp maple syrup
- 2 cloves (6g) garlic, finely minced
- 1 tsp (2g) crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 stalk (15g) green onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tsp (3g) toasted sesame seeds
- 1 tsp (5ml) chili oil
Instructions:
- Carefully remove the silken tofu from the package and gently place the block on a serving platter. Using a knife, make 8 shallow diagonal slices across the top of the tofu to create channels for the sauce.
- In a small bowl, combine the low-sodium soy sauce, toasted sesame oil, and maple syrup. Whisk in the minced garlic and red pepper flakes until the syrup is dissolved.
- Evenly drizzle the sauce over the tofu, ensuring it fills the sliced channels. Scatter the sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds over the top.
- Let the dish sit for 2 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
