Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240 mL) freshly squeezed orange juice (about 3 oranges)
  • 1 cup (240 mL) water
  • 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup (120 mL) cheap tequila (e.g., Blanco)
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) grenadine syrup

Instructions:

  1. Combine water and sugar in a medium saucepan. Heat over medium until sugar is dissolved, then cool.
  2. In a bowl, mix the cooled sugar syrup with orange juice and tequila.
  3. Blend mixture for a smoother texture (optional).
  4. Pour 1/2 of the mixture into a freezer-safe container. Drizzle with grenadine, then pour the remaining mix on top.
  5. Freeze for 4 hours, stirring every 30 minutes for the first 2 hours for a smoother consistency.
  6. Scoop into bowls and enjoy.
