Ingredients:
- 1 cup (240ml) unsweetened almond milk
- 1 cup (30g) packed kale leaves, stems removed
- ½ frozen banana (approx. 60g), sliced
- ¼ cup (30g) frozen berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- 1 scoop (approx. 30g) vanilla protein powder (whey, soy, pea)
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) almond butter
- ½ teaspoon (2.5ml) chia seeds
- Optional: a few ice cubes
- Optional: 1 tsp honey or maple syrup
Instructions:
- Roughly chop the kale, making sure to remove any tough stems.
- Add almond milk to the blender first, followed by the kale, frozen banana, frozen berries, protein powder, almond butter, and chia seeds.
- Secure the lid on the blender and blend on high speed until completely smooth (30-60 seconds). Add more almond milk if too thick, or frozen berries/ice if too thin.
- Taste and adjust sweetness as needed with honey or maple syrup.
- Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.
