Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240ml) unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 cup (30g) packed kale leaves, stems removed
  • ½ frozen banana (approx. 60g), sliced
  • ¼ cup (30g) frozen berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
  • 1 scoop (approx. 30g) vanilla protein powder (whey, soy, pea)
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) almond butter
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5ml) chia seeds
  • Optional: a few ice cubes
  • Optional: 1 tsp honey or maple syrup

Instructions:

  1. Roughly chop the kale, making sure to remove any tough stems.
  2. Add almond milk to the blender first, followed by the kale, frozen banana, frozen berries, protein powder, almond butter, and chia seeds.
  3. Secure the lid on the blender and blend on high speed until completely smooth (30-60 seconds). Add more almond milk if too thick, or frozen berries/ice if too thin.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness as needed with honey or maple syrup.
  5. Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.
