Ingredients:
- 225g Unsalted Butter, softened
- 225g Granulated Sugar
- 225g Large Eggs (about 4)
- 225g All-Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- Pinch of Salt (optional)
- 2 tbsp Powdered Sugar (optional)
- 1-2 tsp Milk (optional)
Instructions:
- Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
- Beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt (if using).
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the vanilla extract, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled cake (optional).
- Once completely cooled, slice and serve.
