Ingredients:
- 5 oz (140g) Albacore Tuna in Water, drained well
- 1/4 cup (60ml) Mayonnaise (Hellmann's/Best Foods preferred for classic flavour)
- 1/4 cup (60ml) Celery, finely diced
- 2 tbsp (30ml) Red Onion, finely diced
- 1 tbsp (15ml) Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1 tbsp (15ml) Fresh Parsley, chopped
- 1/2 tsp Dijon Mustard
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper, freshly ground
- Pinch of Sea Salt (or to taste)
- 4 slices Sourdough Bread (or your favourite sandwich bread)
- 2 tbsp (30ml) Unsalted Butter, softened
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, flake the drained tuna with a fork.
- Add the mayonnaise, celery, red onion, lemon juice, parsley, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper to the tuna.
- Gently mix all ingredients until well combined. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed (more lemon juice for tang, more salt for depth).
- Butter one side of each slice of bread. Toast the bread in a toaster or frying pan until golden brown and crispy on the buttered side.
- Spread the tuna salad evenly over two slices of toasted bread.
- Top with the remaining slices of bread and cut in half (corner to corner for extra poshness). Serve immediately.
