Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Smoked Paprika
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Garlic Powder
  • 2 tablespoons Onion Powder
  • 2 tablespoons Chili Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Ground Cumin
  • 1 tablespoon Black Pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 tablespoon Kosher Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Dry Mustard Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients: smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, cumin, black pepper, kosher salt, dry mustard powder, and cayenne pepper (if using).
  2. Whisk all ingredients together thoroughly until well combined. Ensure there are no clumps of brown sugar.
  3. Transfer the rib rub to an airtight container. Store in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months.
  4. Generously apply the rib rub to all sides of your ribs. Gently massage the rub into the meat.
  5. Allow the ribs to sit with the rub for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight) in the refrigerator. This allows the flavors to penetrate the meat.
