Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup Smoked Paprika
- 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 cup Garlic Powder
- 2 tablespoons Onion Powder
- 2 tablespoons Chili Powder
- 1 tablespoon Ground Cumin
- 1 tablespoon Black Pepper, freshly ground
- 1 tablespoon Kosher Salt
- 1 teaspoon Dry Mustard Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper (optional)
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients: smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, cumin, black pepper, kosher salt, dry mustard powder, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Whisk all ingredients together thoroughly until well combined. Ensure there are no clumps of brown sugar.
- Transfer the rib rub to an airtight container. Store in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months.
- Generously apply the rib rub to all sides of your ribs. Gently massage the rub into the meat.
- Allow the ribs to sit with the rub for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight) in the refrigerator. This allows the flavors to penetrate the meat.
