Ingredients:
- 1 (12-16 ounce) bag pretzel rods or twists (340-450g)
- 12 ounces (340g) high-quality white chocolate, chopped
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) vegetable shortening or coconut oil (optional)
- Sprinkles, crushed peppermint candies, chopped nuts, sea salt, mini chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions:
- Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper to prepare your dipping station.
- Combine white chocolate and shortening (if using) in a double boiler or microwave-safe bowl. Heat gently until smooth and melted, stirring occasionally. If microwaving, use 30-second intervals.
- Dip each pretzel into the melted white chocolate, ensuring it's fully coated. Use a fork or dipping tool to help.
- Gently tap the pretzel against the side of the bowl to remove excess chocolate.
- Immediately sprinkle with desired toppings (sprinkles, nuts, etc.) before the chocolate sets.
- Place the dipped pretzels on the prepared baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm.
- Once hardened, remove from the fridge and enjoy your homemade white chocolate covered pretzels!
