Ingredients:

  • 1 (12-16 ounce) bag pretzel rods or twists (340-450g)
  • 12 ounces (340g) high-quality white chocolate, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) vegetable shortening or coconut oil (optional)
  • Sprinkles, crushed peppermint candies, chopped nuts, sea salt, mini chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper to prepare your dipping station.
  2. Combine white chocolate and shortening (if using) in a double boiler or microwave-safe bowl. Heat gently until smooth and melted, stirring occasionally. If microwaving, use 30-second intervals.
  3. Dip each pretzel into the melted white chocolate, ensuring it's fully coated. Use a fork or dipping tool to help.
  4. Gently tap the pretzel against the side of the bowl to remove excess chocolate.
  5. Immediately sprinkle with desired toppings (sprinkles, nuts, etc.) before the chocolate sets.
  6. Place the dipped pretzels on the prepared baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes, or until the chocolate is firm.
  7. Once hardened, remove from the fridge and enjoy your homemade white chocolate covered pretzels!
