Ingredients:
- 1 cup Strong Brewed Green Tea (double-strength, chilled completely)
- 1 tsp Fresh Lime Juice (optional)
- 1 ½ cups Frozen Sliced Peaches
- ½ cup Plain Greek Yogurt (full-fat or 2%)
- ¼ cup Almond or Oat Milk (plus more, if needed)
- 1 to 2 Tbsp Honey or Maple Syrup (adjust to taste)
- ½ medium Banana (optional, frozen is best)
- ½ inch knob Fresh Ginger (peeled)
Instructions:
- Brew the Tea: Bring 1 cup (240ml) of water to near-boiling (around 175°F/80°C). Steep your green tea (using 2 bags or 1.5 teaspoons of loose leaf) for no longer than 3 minutes to avoid bitterness.
- Chill the Tea: Remove the tea leaves/bags immediately. Allow the tea to cool slightly on the counter, then transfer to the refrigerator for at least 60 minutes until thoroughly chilled. This step must be completed ahead of time.
- Load the Blender: Place all liquids into the blender jar first. This includes the chilled green tea, the lime juice, and the milk/water. (Liquids first prevent the blades from seizing up.)
- Add Solids: Carefully add the Greek yogurt, frozen peaches, frozen banana (if using), peeled ginger, and 1 to 2 tablespoons of sweetener (honey/maple syrup).
- Blend and Adjust Consistency: Start the blender on a low setting, then gradually increase to high. Blend until the mixture is completely smooth and uniform, ensuring there are no remaining chunks. If the Peach Green Tea Smoothie is too thick, add an additional tablespoon of liquid at a time until the desired consistency is reached. Serve immediately in chilled glasses.
