  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons (15g) garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons (15g) onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon (7.5g) ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon (7.5g) chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon (7.5g) ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) dried oregano

Instructions:

  1. In the mixing bowl, combine all ingredients.
  2. Whisk together thoroughly until evenly distributed and no lumps remain.
  3. Transfer the rib rub to an airtight container or zip-top bag. Store in a cool, dry place.
  4. Generously rub the spice mixture all over the ribs, ensuring all surfaces are coated.
  5. Let the ribs rest with the rub for at least 30 minutes (or preferably overnight in the refrigerator) before cooking.
