- 1/4 cup (30g) smoked paprika
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) kosher salt
- 2 tablespoons (15g) garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons (15g) onion powder
- 1 tablespoon (7.5g) ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon (7.5g) chili powder
- 1 tablespoon (7.5g) ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon (5ml) cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
- 1 teaspoon (5g) dried oregano
Instructions:
- In the mixing bowl, combine all ingredients.
- Whisk together thoroughly until evenly distributed and no lumps remain.
- Transfer the rib rub to an airtight container or zip-top bag. Store in a cool, dry place.
- Generously rub the spice mixture all over the ribs, ensuring all surfaces are coated.
- Let the ribs rest with the rub for at least 30 minutes (or preferably overnight in the refrigerator) before cooking.
