Ingredients:
- 2 large sweet potatoes (about 1 ½ lbs / 680g), peeled and cut into ½-inch thick fries
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (30 ml)
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (5 ml)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (2.5 ml)
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika (2.5 ml)
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, 1.25 ml)
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- Peel and cut the sweet potatoes into evenly sized fries.
- In a large bowl, toss the sweet potato fries with olive oil, cornstarch, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Ensure fries are evenly coated.
- Spread the fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Avoid overcrowding.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from oven and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
