Ingredients:
- 1 package (225g / 8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 8 hot dogs
- Mustard, ketchup, or other condiments for serving (optional)
- Black sesame seeds or poppy seeds for eyes (optional)
- 1 Egg for egg wash (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Set the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and press perforations together to create a single sheet.
- Cut the Dough into Strips: Using a pizza cutter or knife, cut the dough into thin strips, about ½ inch wide.
- Wrap the Hot Dogs: Wrap the dough strips around each hot dog, leaving a small gap near the top for the eyes. Crisscross the strips to resemble bandages.
- Optional: Egg wash: lightly brush the mummy dogs with egg wash
- Add Eyes: Place sesame or poppy seeds in the gaps at the top of each mummy to make eyes
- Bake: Place the mummy dogs on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
- Serve: Let cool slightly before serving with your favorite condiments.
