Ingredients:
- 1 pound fresh figs, halved
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions:
- Rinse figs under cold water and gently pat dry. Remove the stems and cut figs in half.
- Place a large skillet over medium heat. Add the unsalted butter and allow it to melt, swirling the pan to coat.
- Sprinkle brown sugar into the melted butter. Stir continuously until the sugar is dissolved and begins to bubble.
- Add the halved figs to the skillet, cut side down. Cook for 3-5 minutes until the figs are caramelized and tender.
- Drizzle balsamic vinegar and vanilla extract over the figs. Season with a pinch of salt, stirring gently to combine.
- Continue to sauté for an additional 2-3 minutes until the sauce slightly thickens.
- Remove from heat and transfer to a serving bowl. Serve warm as desired.
