Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup (45g) old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup (240ml) unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 pinch (1g) sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon (15ml) maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2g) ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) chia seeds

Instructions:

  1. Combine oats, almond milk, and salt in a saucepan for the stovetop method or a deep microwave-safe bowl for the microwave method.
  2. For stovetop: Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring frequently for 5–7 minutes until the milk is absorbed and the texture is thick and glossy.
  3. For microwave: Heat on high for 2 minutes, stir, and heat for another 1–2 minutes until thickened.
  4. For overnight method: Stir all ingredients in a mason jar and refrigerate for 6+ hours.
  5. Remove from heat when the mixture is slightly more liquid than desired. Let it sit for 2 minutes to allow residual heat to finish thickening the oats.
