Ingredients:

  • 24 pretzel rods (approx. 100g / 3.5 oz)
  • 12 oz (340g) white chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) coconut oil (or vegetable shortening), optional
  • Green food coloring (gel or liquid)
  • 24 whole almonds
  • Red decorating gel or icing

Instructions:

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt white chocolate in a double boiler or microwave. If using the microwave, heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Stir in coconut oil (if using) for smoother melting.
  3. Add green food coloring to the melted chocolate, a few drops at a time, until you achieve your desired shade of green.
  4. Dip each pretzel rod into the green chocolate, coating completely. Use a spoon or spatula to help cover evenly.
  5. Place the chocolate-covered pretzels on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Before the chocolate sets, gently press an almond at the end of each pretzel rod to resemble a fingernail.
  7. Refrigerate the pretzels for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is set.
  8. Once the chocolate is set, use red decorating gel or icing to create a small 'blood' droplet at the base of each almond fingernail.
